Representational Drawing 1
Representational drawing from life is the basis for all artistic work, whether technical drawings, still lifes or other subjects. Objects can only be accurately reproduced if you are confident in your drawing skills, estimating proportions, and can depict plasticity through light and shadow.
During this first weekend, participants will learn the essential basics of representational drawing. We will begin with basic shapes and learn to assess proportions and positions in space and on the picture plane. Using various still lifes, we will explore aspects such as contrast, perspective, and texture. The influence of light plays an important role here, and its effect on the motifs will be examined and explained in more detail. Methods for effectively depicting light and shadow will be identified.
By the end of the course, you will be able to draw small still lifes of various shapes realistically. In the follow-up course, Representational Drawing 2, we will use the skills we have acquired to learn how to draw more complex man-made and natural objects.
Material: a sketchbook, 10 sheets of paper size DIN A3 and A2 or equivalent, soft and medium-hard pencils (HB-B6), white eraser, kneaded eraser, sharpener

Cancellation: The cancellation of a course registration must be made in writing. If the cancellation is received up to 15 days before the start of the course, you will be refunded the course fee minus the deposit paid. If you cancel from the 14th day before the start of the course or if you do not show up, no refund of the course fee is possible.
