Life Drawing part 3
Discover the basics and advanced techniques of figure drawing and learn to represent the human figure in proportion, movement and expression. The aim of the course is to create realistic and expressive drawings by combining knowledge and observation. We combine anatomy and proportion with creative interpretation. This offers the opportunity to convincingly depict postures, movements and emotions.
Course content:
1. Proportions and anatomy:
• Skeleton, musculature of artist's anatomy and classical proportions schemes.
• Simplification of complex shapes through volumes or basic shapes.
• Measurement and verification methods
2. Poses and movement:
• Dynamics, stability, body axis and foreshortening.
• Basics of perspective, depth of space, positive-negative spaces
• Work with models and references.
3. Techniques and materials:
• Use of line and emphasis, hatching, light and shadow.
• Drawing techniques with graphite pencil (pastels), later watercolor brush drawings
4. Expression and emotion:
• Body posture-tension language and textures (skin, fabric, hair).
• Creative interpretations of poses, emotions and expression in figurative art
Working method:
You draw from living models, supplemented by short theoretical units and corrections. The focus is on precise observation and
application of construction methods. Individual feedback helps you develop your personal handwriting.
Objectives:
At the end of the course, you can:
• Draw figures anatomically correctly and expressively in movement.
• Draw plastic form in 3-dimensions and linearly in 2-dimensions and combine both
• Abstract the forms of the human figure while maintaining their essence.
• Develop your artistic language.
Requirements: Suitable for beginners and advanced users
Material:
• A3 drawing pad
• graphite pencils and soft pencils (at least 2B), (optional pastels)
• watercolor box and/or ink, watercolor and/or ink — brush
• For brush drawings: stronger paper (at least 150 g/m²), A3 block
• eraser, sharpener

Only after receipt of Down payment of 25€ you will receive confirmation of your registration from us and your place in the booked course will be bindingly reserved for you. If the course is already fully booked, we will inform you immediately.
Cancellation: The cancellation of a course registration must be made in writing. If the cancellation is received up to 15 days before the start of the course, you will be refunded the course fee minus the deposit paid. If you cancel from the 14th day before the start of the course or if you do not show up, no refund of the course fee is possible.
The decisive time for the cancellation is its receipt by us. Alternatively, it is always possible to provide us with a substitute participant. All details are in our General terms and conditions to read.
